2026-03-30 - Version 1.6.0

Rail Physics Change

A slight modification to the game's rail physics was made, which significantly affected the following tracks:

  • On Airship Fortress, the rail-boost strategy early in lap 1 now appears to be impossible.
This strategy was done at around 0:06.000 on the in-game timer in this pre-patch WR video.
No one has been able to replicate this strategy since the patch was released. The strategy saves over 0.100.
This makes the WR on this track difficult to beat, especially due to the pace-based elements on the track.

  • On Wario Stadium, the wallride onto the top rail became much more consistent.
See 1:03.000-1:06.000 on the in-game timer in this WR video.
In previous versions, players often wouldn't have enough speed to attach to the rail when not getting the speed boost from the coin.
This made the WR on this track easier to beat.

2025-12-16 - Version 1.4.1

Controller Disconnect Abuse Glitch Patched

The previous glitch was patched. The Glitch WRs on Mario Bros. Circuit and Crown City will no longer count as current WRs, and won't accrue any more duration. The history of these categories can still be viewed in the "Legacy Glitch WR History" section.

2025-12-07 - Object Desync + Controller Disconnect Abuse Glitch

A new glitch has been discovered to remove obstacles such as tires or change object cycles. On Crown City it can also be used to get pushed ahead of the start line by cars before the race starts. WRs set with this glitch will have a separate glitch category.
See this video for a demonstration or read this explanation.

2025-07-30 - Version 1.2.0

Boost Landing Change

This version changed the way certain landings work from ramps, gliders, etc.
This made all WRs easier to beat and resulted in significant timesaves.
For example, on DK Spaceport, a track with many boost landings, the patch gave around a 1 second total timesave.
See this tweet for a video demonstration.
